This is usually a pretty good idea. When I cover my windows, I do use the double-sided tape, but I make use of a small space heater to shrink the clear plastic instead of a wimpy hair dryer. This generates perfect results and at a quick glance, it is difficult to share that the window is actually closed. It's important to retain the heater moving although, or else you'll burn the plastic. Here is usually a picture that I just took of the outcomes with my iSight camera..... so expect low quality, and, it is midnight.
